How to get an Accor hotel invoice (Fairmont, Novotel, ibis)

Accor's brands include Fairmont, Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure and ibis. Its terms say invoices are sent electronically to the email address given at booking, and paper copies have to be requested from the hotel.
Check the booking email address
If you used fast check-out, the invoice is emailed after departure. Search the inbox of the address used to book, including Spam, for the hotel's name or Accor.
Online check-in and fast check-out
At participating hotels, Accor emails an invitation to check in online two days before arrival. With fast check-out, you simply return your key when you leave, and the invoice follows by email after departure. Accor says these services are becoming available gradually in most of its hotels, and a symbol marks the ones that offer them when you book.
Prepaid rates and pay-at-hotel rates
With a prepaid rate, you pay at booking and receive an email confirming the reservation. Accor's terms say the amount charged then includes all applicable taxes, except tourist taxes for unclassified establishments. With a credit card guarantee, nothing is debited at booking: you pay the hotel directly on the day of arrival or departure, depending on the hotel. If you haven't prepaid, the hotel may ask for a deposit or a card authorization at check-in to cover what you spend on site.
Getting a copy
For a paper copy or a missing invoice, contact the hotel directly with your booking number and dates.
Fairmont and other Accor hotels in Québec
An invoice from an Accor hotel in Québec, such as the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, lists the lodging tax with GST and QST on top of it. The Québec hotel bill guide explains how those three lines fit together.
Accor invoices, filed from the booking inbox
Because Accor sends the invoice to your booking address, email receipt capture can pick it up there with each night and tax line. A paper copy from the front desk can be photographed in the Smartbills app, and the whole trip ends up on one expense report.
