To get a copy of a Shake Shack receipt, fill out the form in Shake Shack's Help Center or send an email to share@shakeshack.com. Include the location, the date and time of your order, your approximate total, and how you placed the order. Those details are what Shake Shack's FAQ asks for to find it.
The details to send
- Location: the Shack you ordered from, not the city alone.
- Date and time: as close as you can get.
- Approximate total: your card statement is a good source.
- How you ordered: the Shack App, the website, a kiosk or the counter.
The order method matters because Shake Shack takes orders in several ways, and it narrows the search. Pull the total from your bank or card app before you write, since a vague amount slows the reply.
Is there a self-serve lookup?
Shake Shack's FAQ does not describe a page where you can look up or reprint a receipt yourself. The copy request is the route it gives. Plan on a reply by email rather than an instant download, and ask for the copy soon after the meal while the details are fresh.
Rewards follow signed-in orders
Under Shake Shack's terms, a purchase earns no rewards if you were not logged in to a Shake Shack account connected to an active rewards account when you placed the order. Cancelled or refunded portions earn nothing either. Ordering signed in has a second benefit: the order is tied to your account if you ever need to describe it to support.
Burgers with a client on the company card
Before you leave, check that the receipt lists the items and taxes, not only the total. If you only kept the card slip, request the itemized copy using the steps above, because the slip on its own does not show what was bought.
Shake Shack receipts on file without the email back-and-forth
Requesting a copy from Shake Shack works, but it takes a message and a wait. Take a photo of the receipt at the table with the receipt scanner and the location, time and total are already on file. A copy sent back by the Help Center can follow through email receipt capture, and the meal joins your expense report.
