When you order Five Guys online or in the app, Five Guys or its service providers may send an email, push notification or text message confirming the details of the order. That confirmation is your record, and the app keeps your order history as well. In the restaurant, the receipt is the paper one from the register.
Order confirmations
Online orders are paid in advance by credit card, gift card or another accepted method, and paying at pickup is not an option. Five Guys' terms say that by submitting an order you agree to receive a confirmation by SMS, push or email. Save the version you get, because it holds the order number Five Guys asks for when something goes wrong.
Order history in the app
The Five Guys app saves your order history, mainly so you can reorder. It is still the first place to look when you need the date and total of a past order. Orders cannot be edited in the app once placed; call the location instead.
Refunds and duplicate charges
For a refund, call 866-345-GUYS (4897) between 8 am and midnight Central, or use the Contact Us form. Include the order number, the location you visited and the total cost of the order. A duplicate charge is often a temporary bank hold that drops off in a few days. If it is still there after two or three days, contact Five Guys.
Catering for a group
Many locations cater. Start an online order or call to check whether yours does. A catering order needs at least 15 sandwiches and 16 hours of notice, and you can pick a bundle or build your own box. Placing it online gives you the same confirmation as any online order, which is the copy to attach to the event's expenses.
No receipt lookup page
Five Guys' support pages do not describe a way to look up or reprint a past receipt. Between the confirmation and the app's history, an online order is covered. A counter receipt is not. Keep that one.
Five Guys receipts filed before the fries are gone
A Five Guys confirmation can arrive as an email, a push or a text, and only the email is easy to keep. Email receipt capture files those emails with the order number and total. A counter receipt goes in through the receipt scanner, and the catering box for the team lands on the expense report.
