A Jack in the Box receipt from the restaurant carries a barcode you can scan for Jack Pack points, but only within 72 hours of the purchase. In the app, tap Rewards, select History & Claim, then Claim Points. App orders earn on their own and are confirmed by an Order Confirmation email.
Scanning a receipt within 72 hours
The 72-hour window is exact. Jack in the Box gives this example: a purchase made on a Monday at 12:45 pm must be scanned by Thursday at 12:44 pm, or the points expire. You can scan up to two receipts in any rolling 24-hour period.
- Open the Jack in the Box app and tap Rewards.
- Choose History & Claim.
- Tap Claim Points and scan the barcode on the receipt.
How the points are counted
Members earn 10 points per dollar on food and beverage, rounded to the nearest dollar. Points follow the price after coupons and discounts, and nothing is earned on tips, delivery charges, taxes or fees. Purchases made before you joined Jack Pack earn nothing. An account inactive for 365 days in a row loses its points.
App orders and the confirmation email
Once you click Place Order and receive the Order Confirmation email, the order has gone to the restaurant and cannot be cancelled, and your card is charged. If the store was closed or you picked the wrong location, submit a refund request. Orders older than 30 days are not refunded.
Finding an old receipt
Jack in the Box's FAQ does not describe a receipt lookup. History in the Rewards tab shows your points activity, and the confirmation email covers app orders. A counter receipt is the only copy of a restaurant purchase.
Jack in the Box receipts captured before the window closes
The 72-hour limit applies to points, but a receipt you never photographed is just as lost for your expenses. Snap it with the receipt scanner right after you scan it in the app and it is stored with the date and total. App order confirmations go through email receipt capture, and both flow into your expense report.
