Canadian Tire

To get a Canadian Tire receipt, accept the e-receipt at the register or check the email sent when your online order is ready. For an online order, sign in, open Order History and choose Email my e-Receipt. Lost a store receipt? Stores can look up card purchases made in the last 90 days.

e-Receipts for store purchases

At the register you may be offered an electronic copy of your receipt. If you accept, the e-receipt goes to the email address you give. Canadian Tire then links that email address to the payment card you used, keeping a token rather than the card number. From then on, every store purchase made with that card produces an e-receipt to the same address.

Orders from canadiantire.ca

Every online order gets an e-receipt by email once it is completed, meaning ready for pickup or shipped. If you pick up in store, you also get the official sales receipt at the counter. Shipped orders include the receipt with the shipping documents.

Resending it from Order History

  1. Sign in and go to Order History.
  2. Select the order.
  3. Choose Email my e-Receipt. Canadian Tire resends the original e-receipt to the email address on the order.

The option only appears once the order has reached a stage where an e-receipt exists, and only for orders placed while signed in. Guest orders cannot use it. A later refund or price adjustment comes as a separate confirmation, not a changed receipt.

Wrong email or nothing arrives

Check junk and spam, confirm the address on the order and wait a few minutes before trying again. If the address is wrong and you cannot change it, Canadian Tire's customer support can send you a copy. Have your order number ready.

Lost the receipt? Look-up and returns without one

Stores offer a receipt look-up that can verify credit or debit card purchases within 90 days of the purchase date. Cash purchases cannot be found this way.

Why the receipt matters later

Returns and exchanges are only guaranteed with the original receipt, and returns, exchanges or warranty claims without one may be refused. Most products come with a one-year warranty if none is specified, and the receipt is your proof of the purchase date. Triangle Rewards members can return items at Canadian Tire and its sister stores without a paper receipt, but keeping the e-receipt is still the safer bet.

GST/HST and input tax credits

If you buy at Canadian Tire for a business, the receipt supports your input tax credit claim. Under CRA rules, a purchase of $100 or more needs the supplier's GST/HST registration number on the receipt, and $500 or more also needs your name and a description of the items.

Canadian Tire receipts, collected for you

Once your card is linked to an email address, Canadian Tire emails a receipt for every purchase, which is ideal for automation: email receipt capture picks each e-receipt from your inbox, reads the GST/HST or QST and keeps it ready for tax time. For online orders, connect your Canadian Tire account and our AI agent signs in and fetches the e-receipt from Order History as soon as each order completes, through bill fetching. For a store visit where you skipped the e-receipt, a quick photo in the Smartbills app covers it.
