For an online or app order, Jimmy John's sends a confirmation email, and that email is the record of what you paid. Jimmy John's adds that you are not charged for an attempted order unless that email arrives. In the store, the printed receipt is your copy. Jimmy John's Rewards points are tied to your account or phone number rather than to a receipt you upload.
The order confirmation email
The email confirms the order and lists the store's phone number, which you need because cancelling an online or app order means calling the store directly. If you see a charge but no email, Jimmy John's says it is likely a pre-authorization or pending charge.
Getting rewards points onto an order
Orders placed in the app, online, by phone or in the store can earn points. Online and in the app, be logged in. By phone or at the counter, give the phone number on your account. Points can take 24 hours or more to show.
There is no self-serve receipt form. When a store's system is down and cannot record a rewards transaction, the terms say members can ask Customer Care at 1-866-276-6302 to enter the points manually. Orders through DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber Eats and similar platforms are not eligible for a missed transaction request.
Group orders for the office
Group Ordering is only available on the web. It comes in two forms that matter for expenses:
- Host pay: the host pays for everything and sees every participant's order in the bag. One receipt covers the meal.
- Split pay: each participant pays for their own food. The host only sees who has ordered, not what.
The person who pays earns and can redeem rewards on the group order. The host must be the last person to submit.
Which copy to keep
For a host pay lunch, the confirmation email shows the whole group order, which is what a manager approving it will want to see. With split pay, each person keeps their own and claims their own share.
Jimmy John's receipts filed by whoever paid
A host pay group order lands as one confirmation email in the host's inbox. Email receipt capture picks it up and files the order total and date on its own. A counter receipt from a walk-in order goes through the receipt scanner, and both land on the host's expense report.
