How to get a DoorDash receipt

2 min read
To get a DoorDash receipt, open Orders on doordash.com or in the app, select the order and choose View Receipt, then Download Receipt on the web or Receipt in the app. The receipt breaks out the subtotal, taxes, fees and tip, and its final tax is the number to expense.
On doordash.com
- Open the menu at the bottom left and choose Orders.
- Select the order.
- Select View Receipt, then Download Receipt.
In the DoorDash app
- Open the Orders tab.
- Select the order.
- In Order Details, tap Receipt.
What the receipt breaks down
The receipt shows the subtotal, the taxes, the fees and the tip. The service fee is usually a percentage of the subtotal, and delivery fees vary by store. Tips are optional and go to the Dasher in full.
Why the tax can differ from checkout
The tax shown at checkout is an estimate based on local rules and your subtotal. The final tax is calculated when the order is completed and appears on the receipt, which is why the receipt is the number to expense, not the checkout screen.
Work meals and business profiles
If you order on a business profile, you can submit receipts for past orders from the Orders page using View Receipt. Those receipts are listed under the restaurant or store's name rather than DoorDash, which matters when you match them to a card statement.
DashPass
DashPass benefits only apply to eligible orders from DashPass stores that meet the minimum subtotal. Some employers offer DashPass for Employees as a perk.
DoorDash receipts filed after every order
DoorDash emails a receipt for each order, and email receipt capture picks it up from your inbox with the final tax and tip, not the checkout estimate. If you would rather pull them from the source, connect your DoorDash account and our AI agent signs in and downloads each receipt from Orders through bill fetching. Team lunches and client dinners then go straight into expense reports.
