How to download a CIBC bank statement

CIBC eStatements for bank accounts and credit cards are in CIBC Online Banking and the CIBC Mobile Banking app, with up to seven years available. You can save and print them, or download them to use with personal finance software. To switch from paper, sign on to Online Banking and update your statement preferences.
Switching to eStatements
Sign on to CIBC Online Banking and update your statement preferences for each account. Once you choose eStatements, CIBC stops sending printed statements for that account. CIBC publishes two demos, one on registering and one on finding and understanding your eStatements, plus a PDF how-to guide.
Statement lookup by month
Each month's eStatement is listed for the account in Online Banking and the app, going back up to seven years. Pick the month, then view, save, print or download it. Credit card and bank account eStatements sit in the same place, which lets you collect a CIBC chequing account and the card that pays its bills in a single session.
Why investment statements start later
Some investment statements only exist from the date you registered for eStatements; earlier ones are not available online. CIBC lists:
- CIBC Personal Portfolio Services and CIBC Securities Inc. mutual fund statements.
- Non-registered GIC statements.
- RRSP, RRIF and TFSA statements.
Keep any paper statements you received before switching.
Bank statement or transaction download
The eStatement is the monthly record your accountant reconciles against. The download for personal finance software is the working file for categorizing. Keep both for the tax year, and keep receipts for purchases you plan to claim. For direct deposit forms, the document you need is different: see how to get a CIBC void cheque.
CIBC eStatements captured every month
Connect your CIBC Online Banking login and our AI agent saves each new eStatement through bill fetching, which also fills the gap for investment statements that only start at registration. Receipts for card purchases go into the receipt scanner, with the year's records set for tax time.
