Shutterfly's help pages do not describe a downloadable receipt. The record of a purchase is the order confirmation email, which carries the order summary and is sent automatically from orders@service.shutterfly.com. Past orders are listed on the Order Status page: sign in, click Hi, (Your Name) and choose Order Status.
The confirmation email is the record
Order confirmations and account change confirmations cannot be switched off. If yours never arrived, add orders@service.shutterfly.com to your address book or safe list so the next one reaches your inbox. Once the order ships, a second email arrives with tracking details.
Order lookup on the Order Status page
The Order Status page shows recent orders together with older ones, each with its status and estimated arrival. You need to be signed in to see it. An order stays cancellable for 30 minutes after you place it. A Failed status means the card was declined, and a link in Order History lets you resubmit with new billing details within seven days.
Where the order number is printed
- On the back of the index print, the first print in the batch, showing thumbnails of the first and last photos.
- In the order confirmation email.
- In the shipping confirmation email.
- In the online Order History.
Have it ready before contacting Shutterfly Customer Care about a late or missing order.
Billing details on the account
Billing information is updated under Account & Settings in a web browser, since the mobile app does not allow it. The account keeps one billing address and shows the last four digits of the card on file. Check it when an order fails before you retry.
Shutterfly orders filed as they ship
Photo books for a client gift or prints for an office wall are business costs only if the record survives. Shutterfly's confirmation emails are saved by email receipt capture with the order summary intact. When the box arrives with a packing slip instead, photograph it with the Smartbills app, and the order is added to the matching expense report.
