How to get a receipt from Uber

To get an Uber receipt, open Activity in the app, pick the trip and tap Receipt, or sign in at riders.uber.com, open My trips and download the PDF. Uber also emails a receipt after every trip. Need a tax invoice instead? Set up a tax profile before you ride, because an invoice cannot be changed afterwards.
From the Uber app
- Tap Activity.
- Open the trip.
- Tap Receipt to see the fare breakdown, or Resend receipt to have it emailed again.
From riders.uber.com
- Sign in and open My trips.
- Select the trip.
- Choose Resend receipt, or open the receipt, scroll to the bottom and select Download PDF.
A receipt can only be sent if your account has an email address. Add one in the app's account settings first if it does not.
When you need a tax invoice
Some employers and tax authorities ask for a tax invoice rather than a receipt. Uber issues one per trip once you have a tax profile:
- Create a tax profile with Uber before you ride.
- After the trip, sign in at riders.uber.com, open the trip under My trips and choose View detail.
- Select Download invoice at the top right.
Invoices cannot be changed after the trip. Update the tax profile before you request the ride, not after.
If the receipt email never arrives
Check your spam or junk folder, and check which email address is on your Uber account. If the trip itself is missing or the fare looks wrong, use Help in the app on that trip.
A business profile for work rides
A business profile in the Uber app charges work trips to your business card, sends their receipts to your work email and keeps them out of your personal history. To set one up:
- Open the Uber app and tap Account.
- Tap Wallet, then scroll down to Ride Profiles.
- Tap Start using Uber for business, or Add another business profile.
- Follow the prompts to add your work email and business payment method.
Select the business profile before or during any ride you want charged to the business card. Uber is explicit about this: the profile has to be chosen for that trip.
Sending work rides straight to your expense tool
While you set up the business profile, Uber lets you select your company's expense provider to turn on automatic receipt forwarding. Uber then emails you to finish linking, and from then on each receipt for a trip on that profile is uploaded to the expense tool for you. To link one later, open the business profile and choose Expense Provider.
Uber names Certify, Chrome River, Concur, Coupa and Expensify among the providers it works with. Its Uber for Business integrations page also lists SAP Concur, Navan, Ramp, Brex, Emburse, Expensya, Happay, Rydoo, Zeno by Serko and Zoho Expense. For SAP Concur, Uber says each trip is itemised and matched to the right expense report.
If your company's tool is not on Uber's list, the business profile still sends every work receipt to your work email, which is the next best place to collect them.
Uber for Business accounts
If your company pays through Uber for Business, receipts and invoices are in the business dashboard:
- Sign in at business.uber.com, open Activity, find the trip and select Download PDF Invoice.
- On pay-per-trip accounts, receipts are under Transactions.
- Every invoice for a month is ready as a zip download by the 7th working day of the next month.
Program administrators can also have a copy of every ride receipt emailed to them. At business.uber.com, click the profile icon, select Account, scroll to Admin receipt forwarding, switch Forwarding Enabled on for each admin who needs receipts and save.
Uber receipts without screenshots
Uber already does the hard part by emailing every receipt, which makes it one of the easiest merchants to automate. Email receipt capture watches the inbox your rides go to (the work one, if you use a business profile) and files each trip with the date, fare and tax, whether or not your expense tool is on Uber's list. If you would rather not depend on the email, connect your Uber account instead: our AI agent signs in and fetches each trip receipt from your history with bill fetching. Either way the receipts are waiting when you build the expense report.
