How to get a Staples Canada receipt or invoice

To get a Staples Canada invoice for an online order, log in, open Orders, select the order and choose Request Invoice; Staples also emails it once the order ships. For store purchases, ask for a digital receipt at the register. Staples cannot resend a digital receipt later.
Staples.ca orders
You receive the invoice by email once the order ships. Because orders can ship from different warehouses, one order can send several invoice emails on different days.
To get it yourself:
- Log in and open Orders from the left-hand menu.
- Select the order number.
- Select Request Invoice.
Business Preferred members see every online order placed with the same email address in their order history.
Receipts at the register
At the register, you can opt in to a digital receipt by giving your email address. Staples cannot resend a digital receipt, and receipts are not available for cash purchases this way. Keep the paper receipt until the digital copy arrives. If both are lost, contact the store where you bought it and they will try to reprint it.
Tax-exempt accounts
Organizations exempt from tax apply through customer service with a government-issued exemption certificate, their company details and the email linked to their online account. Once confirmed, the exemption shows on the Staples.ca profile within 24 hours. In store, present the certificate when you buy.
Staples Commercial accounts
Business customers on a Staples Commercial account get itemized billing and can view and download every invoice as a PDF from Transaction History on the Account Overview page of the customer portal.
Office supplies and GST/HST
The invoice is what supports your input tax credit. CRA asks for the supplier's GST/HST registration number on purchases of $100 or more, which a Staples invoice carries.
Staples invoices filed as each shipment leaves
Split shipments mean several invoice emails per order, which is where email receipt capture earns its keep: each one is filed from your inbox with the GST/HST read off for tax time. Opting in to digital receipts at the register sends store purchases down the same path. For commercial accounts, connect the portal login and our AI agent signs in to Transaction History and saves each invoice through bill fetching.
