Setting it up means verifying your identity with your first name and date of birth.
When an insurer or the medical expense tax credit calls for a yearly total, ask the pharmacist for a printout of your prescription purchases for the year.
Front-store purchases
Shoppers Drug Mart's public pages don't describe a way to reprint or look up a checkout receipt after you leave. Hold on to the paper, or photograph it at the cash. A bank statement lists Shoppers Drug Mart and a total, with no product names and no tax breakdown.
PC Optimum points at Shoppers
Shoppers is part of PC Optimum. Points are earned by scanning your card or app when you pay, and a missing-points inquiry goes through the PC Optimum app or pcoptimum.ca. The program's help centre deals with points and offers, not with copies of receipts.
Orders from shoppersdrugmart.ca
Orders placed on shoppersdrugmart.ca come with an order confirmation by email. Search your inbox, including Spam and Promotions, for Shoppers Drug Mart, and sign in to your account on the site to see your orders.
Supplies bought for work
A first aid kit for the office or supplies for a job site count as business purchases, and they need the itemized front-store slip. From $100, the CRA expects Shoppers' GST/HST registration number on it before you claim an input tax credit.
