Lost receipt: the electronic lookup

At the store, staff can look up a receipt with your phone number, the credit card you paid with, your MyLowe's card or your checking account number. For returns, Lowe's can also validate a purchase with an order number, a digital wallet or your MyLowe's Rewards or MyLowe's Pro Rewards account.

Purchase history online

To see online and in-store purchases together, you need a personal account and purchases tracked to MyLowe's: give your phone number or scan your MyLowe's card at checkout. Lowe's can limit how many years of history stay available. Do not treat it as a permanent archive.

Adding a missing receipt

If a store purchase is missing, go to Purchase History on Lowes.com or in the Lowe's app and select Add Existing Receipt. Receipts can be added within 45 days of the purchase, up to three a day. Online orders placed as a guest cannot be added this way.

Lowe's Pro

On a Lowe's Pro account, export your purchase history from the Purchase History page of your Pro dashboard. Primary admins can export the history for the whole organization, which is how a contractor with several crews gets every crew's purchases into one file for job costing.

What a contractor needs

An itemized receipt with the tax, tied to the job it was for. A card statement line will not support a deduction or a client rebill.

Returning to Lowe's without a receipt

Lowe's does not accept returns or exchanges without a valid proof of purchase. That proof does not have to be paper. The store can try to validate the purchase from an electronic receipt, the order number, the payment card or digital wallet you used, your phone number, or your MyLowe's Rewards or MyLowe's Pro Rewards account.

Lowe's also uses a refund verification system that may ask for a picture ID: a state driver's license, a state ID card or a military ID. Most new, unused items can be returned within 90 days.
