Lordco Auto Parts runs more than 85 stores in British Columbia and Alberta. Store purchases come with a printed receipt at the counter, and online orders are picked up in store rather than shipped. Two things make a Lordco receipt matter more than most: core charges and warranties.
What a lordco.com account tracks
A Lordco account gives you Lordco Loyalty savings online and in-store, faster checkout and order tracking, and your account number appears on your digital membership card under the Membership tab. The card can be downloaded to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. At the counter, show the card, or give your email address, account number or phone number along with a piece of ID, and the staff apply your Loyalty pricing.
Online orders are pickup only
Lordco doesn't ship retail orders to your address: anything ordered on lordco.com is collected at a Lordco store. Sign in on lordco.com to track online orders before you head over.
Core charges
Some parts carry a core charge: a refundable deposit on the value of the used part you're replacing. Lordco refunds it when you bring the used part back in its original packaging. Keep the receipt that shows the core charge until the refund is done.
Eco Fees on the receipt
Some items also carry an Eco Fee, sometimes called an Environmental Fee. Lordco describes it as a taxable fee that helps fund recycling programs for potentially hazardous items. Expect it as a separate line, with tax charged on it.
Returns and warranty
Lordco handles returns through its stores: contact the store near you to speak to a parts representative. Warranty terms depend on the part and its manufacturer. Keep the receipt for as long as the part is covered, or photograph it at the counter.
Shop and fleet purchases
Lordco stores accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, debit, or a personalized cheque with a valid provincial driver's licence or ID and a major credit card. Whatever the payment, a part for a work vehicle needs the itemized receipt. From $100, the CRA expects the seller's GST/HST registration number on it to support an input tax credit, and most businesses have four years to claim that credit.
Cores, warranties and one photo
Between a pending core refund and a parts warranty, a Lordco receipt can be needed weeks or years after the sale. A photo in the Smartbills app at the counter keeps the part, the price, the core charge and the tax lines readable. Order emails from lordco.com are filed by email receipt capture.
