When you pay with the Esso and Mobil app, Esso keeps a copy of the receipt in the app and can email it to you as well. When you pay with a card at the pump or in the store without the app, the printed receipt is your copy.
Receipts in the Esso and Mobil app
To see past receipts:
- Open the Esso and Mobil app.
- Tap More in the bottom right.
- Select Transaction History to display a copy of your transaction receipts.
The same screen holds your car wash codes: toggle to the Car Wash view. A car wash bought at the pump also prints a receipt automatically.
Choosing email or paper receipts
You can decide when Esso emails you a receipt and when you get a paper one. Tap More, then Settings, then Notifications, and set your receipt preference there. Email is the safer choice for anything you'll expense, since the copy lands somewhere you can search.
Old Speedpass+ receipts and deleted accounts
The Esso and Mobil app replaced Speedpass+ in December 2023, and your Speedpass+ receipt history isn't shown in it. If you had email receipts turned on in Speedpass+, a copy of each one was emailed to you at the time: search your inbox. Esso also warns that deleting your app account removes access to your receipts and car wash codes. Save what you need first.
Missing PC Optimum points
Esso and Mobil stations earn PC Optimum points on fuel, and at Esso stations on car washes and most convenience purchases too. Your earning history, including Esso transactions, is in the PC Optimum app or website under Account, then Points. If points didn't register when you scanned your card, submit a points claim in the PC Optimum app or website, or call 1-866-727-6468. Tobacco, lottery, alcohol, gift cards and cash back never earn points, and a claim for those won't succeed.
To redeem points while paying with Apple Pay or Google Pay, Esso says to scan or tap your PC Optimum card first and then pay: two taps in one transaction.
Esso receipts for a work vehicle
Keep the receipt for every fill-up on a vehicle you use for business. It carries the station, date, litres and GST/HST, which a card statement doesn't.
Esso receipts that file themselves
Set the app to email your receipts and email receipt capture picks up each one from Esso, reads the litres and the tax, and files it before Transaction History grows long. Fill-ups paid without the app still print a slip: photograph it in the Smartbills app at the pump, and both end up on the same expense report.
