How to find a Costco receipt

To find a Costco receipt, sign in at Costco.com or in the app and open Orders & Purchases, then the In-Warehouse or Online tab. Warehouse receipts go back two years, in six-month blocks, once your membership is linked to the account. Food court, optical and Instacart purchases never show up there.
First, link your membership
Warehouse receipts only appear once your membership is verified on your Costco.com account. Each digital membership card belongs to one account, and you only see the purchase history of the membership linked to the account you are signed in to. If a household shares a membership across two logins, only one will see the receipts.
On the website
- Sign in on Costco's website for your country.
- Open Orders & Purchases (Orders & Returns on some sites).
- Choose the In-Warehouse tab, or Online for web orders.
- Pick the time period and open the purchase to view or print the receipt.
Warehouse receipts are shown in six-month blocks, going back up to two years. A new warehouse purchase can take up to 24 hours to appear.
In the Costco app
Tap the account icon, sign in, then tap Orders & Purchases. Online orders and warehouse receipts are both listed there.
Purchases that never show up
Some purchases are not in warehouse purchase history at all: Instacart orders, the food court, optical and Costco Travel. Gas purchases only appear from September 30, 2024. Keep the paper receipt for those.
Older than two years
For anything older, ask at the membership desk in a warehouse, with your membership card and the approximate date.
Keep the paper for the exit
Keep the paper receipt when you shop. Staff check it at the exit, and the copy in the app does not replace it there.
Shopping at Costco for a business
If you shop at Costco for work, the receipt needs to show the items and the tax, not just the total. In Canada, a purchase of $100 or more also needs Costco's GST/HST registration number on the receipt for an input tax credit, which a Costco receipt carries.
Returning to Costco without a receipt
Costco's published return policy does not list a receipt among its conditions. It promises to refund the purchase price on almost everything, with exceptions: televisions, computers, major appliances, phones and other listed electronics have 90 days, and gift cards, tickets, precious metals and custom orders cannot be refunded. Warehouse purchases go back to the returns counter at any Costco warehouse.
Costco adds that limitations apply and sends members to the membership counter for the details. Bring your membership card. Your warehouse receipts are also in your account, which settles any question about when you bought the item.
Getting Costco receipts out of the account
Costco is a good example of receipts that exist but are locked behind a login and a six-month filter. You can connect your Costco.com account to Smartbills and have our AI agent sign in, open Orders & Purchases and pull each new warehouse and online receipt with bill fetching. For the purchases Costco never lists online, like the food court or a pharmacy run, snap the paper slip into the Smartbills app before you reach the car. Both end up in the same place for expense reports.
