At Advance Auto Parts the warranty period is printed on your receipt. The general Limited Warranty is 90 days from the date of purchase, or any longer period printed on your original sales receipt. The receipt is what tells you, and the store, how long the part is covered.
What the warranty covers
- Parts: a part that fails from a defect in materials or workmanship is replaced or refunded when you return it with your original receipt.
- Batteries: covered through the Free Replacement Period printed on your receipt, which doesn't restart when a battery is replaced during that period.
- Commercial vehicles: 90 days from purchase only, whatever longer period the receipt shows.
The warranty isn't transferable, and labor, consequential damages, accidents, misuse and off-road or racing use are excluded.
Online orders
For a part ordered online, the online order confirmation is the proof of purchase Advance asks for to validate warranty coverage. Keep the email.
Lost receipt: no lookup to count on
The warranty terms are written around the original receipt. Ask the store what it can find, but don't count on it: keep the receipt, or photograph it at the counter.
Proof for the Free Replacement Period
At Advance, the length of coverage lives on the receipt itself. Photograph it at the counter with the Smartbills app and the printed warranty period, the part, the price and the tax stay legible. For online orders, the confirmation Advance asks for is filed by email receipt capture as soon as it lands.
