HONK emails your parking receipt right away when you pay through the HONK app. That email is the receipt to keep. The session itself, with the barcode for gated lots, stays in the app under sessions. If you paid at the lot's pay station instead, HONK never sees that payment, and no receipt will appear in the app.
The emailed receipt
Every app payment triggers an email receipt to the address on your account. Nothing is printed and nothing needs to go on the dashboard. If the email is missing, search your inbox and spam folder for HONK before assuming the payment failed, and check that the email on your HONK account is one you read.
Sessions and the barcode
At gated lots, a digital pass barcode gets you in and out. HONK keeps that barcode under sessions in the app, and it is also stored in the receipt email, which gives you a backup if your phone is low on battery. The app also sends a reminder before a session runs out, and you can add time from wherever you are.
Pay station payments
Many HONK lots also have a physical pay station. Those payments are not linked to the app. They create no HONK receipt. Take the station's printed ticket or receipt if you need proof, and ask the operator about refunds for a station payment.
Refunds
HONK refunds a session in full if you contact support up to the minute before it starts, or within 10 minutes after it starts. If you arrive and no spot is available, support also issues a full refund. For receipts, history or anything else, email support@honkmobile.com, which HONK says answers within 48 hours.
HONK receipts captured from your inbox
Since HONK only sends receipts by email, the inbox is where they pile up between expense runs. Email receipt capture picks each one out and files it, and the session date and lot carry over to your expense report. A pay station slip from the same lot can be photographed with the receipt scanner.
