Hobby Lobby

With no receipt, Hobby Lobby will exchange the item or issue merchandise credit based on the lowest selling price of the last 60 days, and you must show a valid ID. A refund to your card or cash needs the original store receipt and a return within 90 days of purchase. For hobbylobby.com orders, the invoice is the document that matters, and customer service sends a copy on request.

Returning to Hobby Lobby with no receipt

  • You choose between an exchange and merchandise credit. A refund is not offered.
  • The credit is pegged to the lowest price the item sold for in the previous 60 days, which can be well below what you paid during a full-price week.
  • A valid ID is required at the counter.
  • Hobby Lobby reserves the right to limit or refuse non-receipted returns and certain products.

Some products are off the table entirely without paper. Cricut machines and sewing machines (the Singer Stitch Quick excepted) come back only with the original receipt and in new, unopened condition. Warranty claims go to the manufacturer, not the store.

What the register receipt still buys you

Bring the receipt within 90 days and you can pick an exchange, store credit or a refund to the original method of payment. A purchase paid by check carries a 10 calendar day wait before a refund, unless you accept merchandise credit on the spot.

Online invoice copies and order history lookup

An account on hobbylobby.com is optional, but it gives you access to your order history. If the invoice is gone, call 1-800-888-0321 or email Hobby Lobby customer service to obtain a copy. That copy matters at the store:

  • Online items totaling less than $250 can go back to any Hobby Lobby store within 90 days.
  • The invoice must come with the items for the full purchase price to be credited, and that credit goes on a Hobby Lobby gift card.
  • Any single line totaling $250 or more counts as a bulk purchase and must be returned to hobbylobby.com, where seasonal bulk items may carry a 20% restocking fee.
  • Damaged or defective online merchandise cannot be returned in a store. Call first and keep the shipping box.

Mailed returns are refunded to the card used at checkout, or to a gift card if you paid with one, within about two weeks.

Tax-exempt schools, churches and Accounts Receivable cards

For tax-free online orders, create an account first, then email your exemption certificate and the account's email address to online.taxexempt@hobbylobby.com and wait for confirmation. In stores, any location can set up tax-exempt purchases. Organizations paying with an Accounts Receivable card can check its balance and history on the Accounts Receivable Card page.

Hobby Lobby receipts for classroom and craft budgets

A credit valued at a 60-day low is a poor substitute for the receipt, and a school or shop buying supplies needs that receipt for its books anyway. Photograph each Hobby Lobby register slip in the Smartbills app before it leaves the bag. Email receipt capture files the order emails from hobbylobby.com, and bill fetching sends our AI agent to sign in with your login and save each invoice from your order history.

Frequently asked questions

Hobby Lobby's help pages don't describe a lookup for in-store receipts. Online shoppers with an account can see their order history, and customer service at 1-800-888-0321 can send a copy of an online invoice.

Yes, but only for an exchange or merchandise credit. The value is the lowest selling price from the last 60 days, a valid ID is required, and the store may limit or refuse the return.

Ninety days from purchase, for store and online orders alike. Online merchandise must be in sellable condition, and opened or used items are not accepted.
