For a Greyhound trip bought online, the booking confirmation email is your proof of purchase, and it carries the booking number. If you lost it, open Manage My Booking on greyhound.com, find the booking and resend the confirmation to the email address you used when you booked.
The confirmation email
Greyhound's FAQ treats the confirmation email as the core document for a trip. You can show it to the driver, and the booking number in it is what you need to retrieve or change the booking later. Save it in a folder the day you book rather than relying on the inbox search a month later.
Resending a lost confirmation
- Go to Manage My Booking on greyhound.com.
- Find your booking.
- Choose to resend the booking confirmation.
- Enter the email address you originally used.
The confirmation can only go to the address on the booking. Use the one you entered at checkout.
Printing a ticket
If the ticket is in your name, you can click Print Ticket on the confirmation page, or board with photo ID. Tickets for trips run by other carriers need a printed copy. With a booking number but no ticket, the ticket counter or a self-serve kiosk at the station can help, and a valid ID also works with the driver.
Changes and cancellations
Manage My Booking also lets you change the date, time or destination up to 15 minutes before departure, fix passenger details, add baggage, or cancel. Greyhound refunds a cancelled ticket as a voucher, full or partial depending on the fare. A change or cancellation creates new paperwork. Keep the latest confirmation, not the first one.
Greyhound trips on file
Bus fares bought for work are small and easy to lose in a busy inbox. Email receipt capture spots each Greyhound confirmation and files it with the fare and travel date. A ticket printed at a station counter goes in with the receipt scanner, and both appear on the expense report for the trip.
