How to get a Dillard's receipt

Dillard's tracks every sale with a proof of purchase (POP) label. Items bought in a store have a yellow POP label physically attached, and if you lost the receipt, the POP number on that sticker is what Dillard's asks for. For dillards.com orders, the POP information is in the Order Status email and on the Order Detail screen in your Order History, on the website and in the Dillard's app.

The yellow POP label as a backup receipt

Do not peel the yellow sticker off a store purchase until the return window has passed. Dillard's in-store refund conditions include the original proof of purchase label and all merchandise tags still attached. The mail return form for store purchases needs a POP number for each item, taken from the receipt or, if you choose I Do Not Have My Receipt, from the yellow stickers.

  1. Sign in and open Order History, on the site or in the app.
  2. Open the Order Detail screen to read the POP information.
  3. Click Start Return and pick the items to send back.

The returns page also offers a lookup for an in-store or online purchase if you are not signed in. Pickup orders carry POP details in the ready-for-pickup email.

30 days, tags on, no price adjustments

Returns are accepted within 30 calendar days of purchase, unless the receipt or a point-of-sale notice gives longer, in original unused condition and original packaging. Dillard's does not issue price adjustments. Three kinds of merchandise cannot be returned or exchanged unless damaged, defective or shipped in error: clearance marked down 65% or more, sale items carrying an extra limited-time discount, and personalized items. Clearance Centers do not take returns.

Refunds, gifts and fees

  • You choose between the original tender, sales tax included, and a Dillard's merchandise credit.
  • Check purchases wait ten days before a cash or check refund.
  • Gifts come back as a Dillard's gift card or merchandise credit.
  • The Dillard's return label costs $9.95, and any restocking fee shown in the Shopping Bag is deducted on top.

Dillard's receipts for wardrobe and gift budgets

A POP sticker works for a return but says nothing about the date or price when an accountant asks about client gifts or a work wardrobe.
