How to get a Datadog invoice
Founder & CEO, Smartbills
2 min read
Datadog emails invoices to your billing contacts near the 10th business day of each month. Card-paying customers also find receipts for previous months under Billing History, in Plan & Usage in organization settings. For another copy of any invoice, email billing@datadoghq.com.
Who can open billing
Billing pages are open to users with the Datadog Admin Role, and to anyone holding the Billing Read or Billing Edit permission. Admins reach Plan & Usage from the account menu at the bottom of the left navigation. Partner-managed accounts may not see the Billing History tab at all.
Choosing who receives invoices
- Open Plan & Usage and go to the Plan page.
- In Billing Contact Details, click Edit Details.
- Add the email addresses that should receive invoices and update the billing address.
The invoice email does not have to belong to a Datadog user, which lets you send invoices straight to an accounts payable inbox.
Card or invoice
Datadog takes credit cards or invoicing paid by ACH, wire or check. To change between the two, use Edit Payment in the Payment Method section of the Plan page. Invoices carry remittance instructions. Payments go to remittances@datadoghq.com and purchase order copies to purchaseorders@datadoghq.com.
The billing month
Every cycle starts on the first of the month in UTC, whatever day you signed up, and the first month is prorated. Hosts are billed on a high-water mark that ignores the top 1 percent of hourly usage, and custom metrics on their monthly average. Usage reports can lag by up to 72 hours. A mid-month figure is an estimate rather than a bill.
Which address for which question
Use billing@datadoghq.com for invoice copies and charge breakdowns. Use success@datadoghq.com for disputes, credits, payment method changes, contact updates and statements of account.
Datadog invoices that land with the books
Add a mailbox that email receipt capture reads to Billing Contact Details and each Datadog invoice is filed with its total the day it is sent, ready to match to the payment. For card accounts, our AI agent can sign in with a Billing Read login and save the monthly receipt from Billing History with bill fetching. subscription tracking shows how host and log volume changes each month's total.
