How to get a Coursera receipt

My Purchases, the receipt lookup

1. Sign in and open My Purchases.
2. Find the payment you need a receipt for.
3. In the Purchase Date column, click Email Receipt.

Nothing downloads on the spot. Coursera sends the copy by email instead. Check which address is primary in your Settings before you request one, especially if you signed up with a personal address and want the receipt at work.

Subscriptions only email the first receipt

On a Coursera subscription, an email receipt goes out for the first payment only. Every monthly or yearly charge after that needs its own request from My Purchases. If you claim the subscription back each month, make the request part of the routine, because the inbox will stay empty otherwise.

What Coursera won't change

Coursera says it cannot:

• customize a receipt with business details such as a VAT number, or with anything outside its standard receipt;
• issue an invoice before you pay (the Enroll button on a course page shows the price instead);
• mail a physical copy.

If your employer needs a company name or tax number on the document, ask before you pay whether the standard receipt with your name will do. Organizations that buy seats through Coursera's business plans are billed through those plans, which have their own admin help center.

Paid in the Coursera app

App payments are in-app purchases. On Android they go through Google Play Billing, and on an iPhone or iPad they are App Store purchases tied to your Apple ID. That charge belongs to Google or Apple. Look for it in the store's purchase history. Coursera notes that you can also pay on Coursera.org in a browser if you want to use one of its other accepted payment methods, and the course still appears in the app.
