To get a Budget Truck Rental receipt after the move, call Customer Service at 800-462-8343, Option 1, then Option 3, and ask for a copy of your rental agreement. Budget Truck faxes or mails it within 24 hours. Its FAQ is clear that there is no online feature to look up previous rental agreements, and its terms count receipts and e-receipts as part of the rental agreement.
What to have ready before you call
- The renter's full name, spelled out.
- The mailing address or fax number for the copy.
- The rental dates.
- The pick-up and return locations.
- One of: the card used to secure the reservation, the rental agreement number, or the reservation confirmation number.
The agreement number is the quickest of the three, if you still have the paperwork from the counter.
The deposit
The pick-up location charges a deposit to your credit card at pick-up. It is refunded when the truck comes back in good condition, which typically takes 3 to 5 business days to post. Refunds go back the way you paid; a location short of cash may mail a check instead.
When the final charges are set
One-way rentals are paid at pick-up, with any extra charges worked out at return. Local rentals are paid when you return the truck. Either way, the terms say you get a preliminary statement of charges at or near return. That statement is not final: additional charges can follow, and if a review finds you were overcharged, you get the difference back.
Keep the paper from the counter
With no online history, the documents handed over at pick-up and return are the fastest proof of what a move cost. Keep the agreement and the return statement together until the deposit refund and any final adjustment have posted to your card.
Budget Truck paperwork kept safe
A move for a business, an office relocation or a job site run produces Budget Truck paperwork that has to survive a hectic week. Photograph the agreement and return statement with the receipt scanner as soon as you get them. A copy that arrives by email is filed by email receipt capture, and the truck, fuel and deposit refund line up on one expense report.
