How to download your Shopify bills

To download a Shopify bill, open your Shopify admin, go to Settings, then Billing, open a bill under Past bills and export it as a PDF or CSV. Each bill covers your plan, apps and transaction fees, while one-time charges such as a domain or shipping labels come on a separate bill.
What goes on a bill
A bill can include your plan subscription, app subscriptions and usage fees, third-party transaction fees and Shopify Messaging. One-time and per-use charges, such as a domain, a theme or shipping labels, appear on a separate bill. Shipping labels are billed once spending reaches your billing threshold; smaller amounts roll into the monthly bill.
Viewing bills
Open Settings, then Billing. Your upcoming bill and past bills are both listed there, and the Shipping section of a bill lists the labels.
Exporting a single bill
- Open a bill from Past bills.
- Export it as a PDF (an overview plus a detailed breakdown of charges) or a CSV.
Exporting your billing history
To get a range of bills at once, export them as a CSV file. Shopify emails it to the address on your Shopify account.
Taxes on Shopify charges
You pay tax on your Shopify subscription and purchases based on your billing address. Stores in Canada may see GST, HST or PST on their bills. Canadian GST/HST registration is entered in the Taxes and duties settings; in other countries a tax number goes in the billing information. Exemptions apply to future invoices after verification, not past ones. Shopify notes that its subscription invoices are not formal tax invoices.
Who can see bills
The store owner, and staff with the View billing and receive billing emails permission. If the store is frozen, cancelled or paused, you can still view billing history without reactivating it. Organizations with several stores export bills from the organization's billing section.
Shopify bills booked without the export step
Shopify sends billing emails to the owner and to staff with billing permission. Give that permission to a mailbox that email receipt capture reads and each bill lands in your books, apps and labels included. For the full PDF breakdown, connect the store owner account and our AI agent signs in, opens Settings, Billing and saves each new bill through bill fetching. Platform costs then sit apart from sales, with the GST/HST ready for tax time.
