How to download a Microsoft 365 invoice

To download a Microsoft 365 invoice, open the Microsoft 365 admin center and go to Billing, then Bills & payments (or Products, then View invoices), select the invoice and download the PDF. You need at least the Billing Administrator role. Microsoft can also attach the PDF to its invoice emails.
From the admin center
- Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- In Simplified view, select Products, then View invoices. In Dashboard view, go to Billing, then Bills & payments.
- If you have more than one billing account, select Change billing account to see each one's invoices.
- Select the invoice, then Download and Download invoice for the PDF.
Getting the PDF attached to the email
Microsoft can attach the invoice PDF to its invoice emails, which saves a trip to the admin center. Where you switch it on depends on your billing account type:
- On a Microsoft Customer Agreement account, open the billing profile, select Manage settings under invoice and payment contact settings, and turn on Get invoices in email attachments. Extra recipients can be added there too.
- On other accounts, go to Billing notifications, select Edit notification settings and tick Attach a PDF to your invoice emails.
Notification emails go to people with billing roles on the account, such as the billing profile owner or an invoice manager.
If no invoices appear
Change the date range, or pick a different billing account from the selector. Organizations that bought through a reseller or Cloud Solution Provider get their invoice from that partner instead.
Payment receipts and tax receipts
Microsoft 365 does not issue separate payment receipts. For card payments, match the invoice against your card statement. In some countries a Download tax receipt option appears next to the invoice ID.
Personal Microsoft accounts
These steps are for business subscriptions. A personal Microsoft 365 plan is billed through your Microsoft account's order history instead.
Microsoft 365 invoices, routed to the books
Once the PDF attachment setting is on, every invoice email carries the invoice itself, and pointing one of the recipients at a mailbox that email receipt capture reads files each one automatically. If your billing roles sit with IT and you would rather not touch their notifications, connect a billing admin account and our AI agent signs in to Bills & payments and downloads each new invoice through bill fetching. Subscription tracking keeps the licence count and renewal in view.
