How to download American Express statements

Sign in to your American Express online account and open your statements: select any statement in the list to get a PDF copy, including older ones that have been archived. Archived statements become available online within 24 hours. For transactions, Amex shows the previous two years, which you can sort, filter and download as a PDF, Excel or CSV file.
PDF statements, recent and archived
Each billing statement can be opened as a PDF from the list in your online account. When you pick an older statement that has been archived, Amex prepares it and makes it available online within 24 hours. Come back the next day to save it.
Two years of transactions in Excel or CSV
The transaction view covers the previous two years. Sort and filter it, for example to one card member or one date range, then download the result as PDF, Excel or CSV. A CSV export is what most bookkeeping tools import; the PDF statement is what you keep as the official record.
Corporate Card statements in @ Work
Companies with an American Express Corporate Card program use @ Work, which requires enrollment. Program administrators can:
- Click Search @ Work on the homepage and find the card member account.
- Click See All to view that account's transactions and statements.
- Use the statements tab to view and download statements in PDF or CSV.
- Request archived statements going back up to seven years, with no fee.
Up to twelve statement archives can be selected at a time, and requested archives stay available to download for fifteen days.
Statement lookup for a past month
To find one particular month on a personal or small business card, open the statement list and select it; Amex's help page describes no separate search for statements. For a charge you cannot place, filter the transaction view by amount or merchant first, then open the statement for that cycle.
Amex statements and receipts are different records
The statement shows that the card was charged. It does not itemize what was purchased or the tax. Expense policies and tax rules usually want the merchant receipt too.
Amex statements and the receipts behind them
Connect your American Express login and our AI agent saves each new statement PDF through bill fetching. Receipts emailed by airlines, hotels and software vendors are picked up by email receipt capture, and card members can file them in an expense report against the matching Amex lines.
