How to get an Ownr receipt
Founder & CEO, Smartbills

Ownr receipts are in your dashboard under Account > Settings. For a corporation, the Billing section there holds your receipts and billing information. For a sole proprietorship, the same page has your receipts and, if you have it, insurance information. Your subscription is managed next door under Account > Settings > Subscription.
The RBC Account Open Credit on your receipt
Opening an RBC business account through Ownr takes $300 off a corporation's registration fee, or $49 off a sole proprietorship. Look for it as the last line item on your Ownr receipt, labelled RBC Account Open Credit. If you opened the account afterwards, click Refund Me on your dashboard and the rebate is deposited into the RBC business account within 7 to 10 business days of confirming your details. An account opened at an RBC branch also qualifies once you click Confirm Account Open.
Paying is not the same as filing
Ownr is explicit that paying for an incorporation does not complete the application. Finish the remaining information, then review the Articles of Incorporation on the Sign & Submit page, tick the agreement boxes and click Submit. You get an email once the incorporation is complete. A receipt without that email means the company may not exist yet.
Company documents lookup
Your Articles of Incorporation and other organization documents are under Company > Documents, each with a download icon. Minute book documents are listed under Company > Organization. Keep them apart from receipts: documents prove the company exists, receipts prove what it cost.
Sales tax on Ownr fees
Once your new company registers for GST/HST, the tax on business purchases can be claimed as input tax credits. CRA's rules require the supplier's GST/HST registration number on the document for purchases of $100 or more. Check that your Ownr receipt shows one before filing it.
Ownr receipts as the first entry in the books
The incorporation receipt and the RBC credit are the opening lines of a new company's records. Our AI agent can sign in to Ownr with your login through bill fetching and save each receipt and subscription charge. Start-up costs then line up for the first year's tax receipts, next to every expense report that follows.
