When you pay for an H&R Block online return, the payment receipt arrives by email from onlinetaxes@hrblock.com. H&R Block uses that one address for payment receipts, account information and notices about your filing status. Search your inbox for it first, then your spam or junk folder.
The receipt email and its sender
H&R Block asks you to add onlinetaxes@hrblock.com to your address book so its messages are not filtered or deleted. If a receipt landed in junk mail, mark it as Not Junk or move it to your inbox. Your email program will then let the next one through, which matters if you file again or buy an add-on later in the season.
Receipt lookup when the email is gone
H&R Block's help center explains where receipts are sent but does not describe downloading one again from your account. Before contacting support, search every mailbox you might have used to create the account, since the receipt goes to the address on that account. Your card or bank statement also shows the charge and its date, which helps support find the transaction.
Your returns in MyBlock
The returns themselves stay in your account. Sign in at myblock.com with the username and password you created the account with, open Prior years in the Taxes section, choose the year and select View My Tax Return. H&R Block keeps the returns you prepared with its online products for the last six years, as long as you paid to prepare them.
Receipt or return: which one you need
The return shows what you reported and owed to the government. The receipt shows what you paid H&R Block for the software or service. A lender checking income wants the return, while a bookkeeper recording the preparation fee as a business cost wants the receipt. Keep both for the same year in the same folder.
The H&R Block receipt kept with the return
A receipt sent in April is buried under a year of other mail by the time anyone asks for it. Email receipt capture recognizes the message from onlinetaxes@hrblock.com and files it as soon as it arrives. If the fee belongs to a sole proprietorship, it moves to an expense report and sits with next year's tax receipts.
