To get an Alamo receipt, open Past Trips/Receipts on alamo.com and enter your last name and driver's license number. Receipts are available online for 2 years, starting 48 hours after you return the car. Open the rental from the list and use Print to save it.
Looking up a past trip
- On alamo.com, open Reserve, then Past Trips/Receipts.
- Enter your last name and your driver's license number.
- Select Search and open the rental.
- On the receipt, select Print or save it as a PDF.
When it appears and how long it stays
Alamo posts the receipt 48 hours after you return the vehicle. It then stays online for 2 years, which covers most expense deadlines and a full tax year with room to spare. Older than that, contact Alamo customer support.
When the search finds nothing
The last name has to match the one on the rental. If someone else rented the car, or the name was entered differently at the counter, Alamo reports that the last name does not match the invoice. Use the name and license of the driver who signed the rental agreement.
The receipt is the document to keep
The booking confirmation shows the price you were quoted. The receipt shows the final charges after fuel, extras and taxes, which is what an expense claim or your books need.

The two-day wait means the receipt is rarely there when you drop off the car, and by the time it posts the trip is forgotten.
