Dollar

To get a Dollar rental car receipt, open Dollar's Request a Receipt page (under Receipts on dollar.com), enter your last name and search with your driver's license or the credit card you paid with. The receipt can take up to seven days to appear after you return the car, and it is available for up to six months.

Requesting the receipt

  1. On dollar.com, open Receipts.
  2. Enter your last name.
  3. Choose Search Using A Driver's License or Search Using A Credit Card and fill in the details.
  4. Select Search and open the rental.

Entering both the license and the card returns only receipts that match both. One is enough.

Narrowing the list

The search shows a maximum of twenty receipts. If you rent from Dollar often, add the approximate pick-up date in the optional fields to get to the right one.

When the receipt is not there

Give it seven days after the return before you worry. If the receipt is still missing after that, the receipt page links to an email contact for Dollar. Past six months, the receipt is no longer online and you will need to ask Dollar for a copy.

The receipt, not the confirmation

The reservation confirmation shows the estimated price. The receipt has the final charges after fuel, extras and taxes, and it is what an expense claim needs.

Dollar receipts collected inside the window

Six months passes quickly when receipts are only gathered at tax time. Connect your Dollar account and our AI agent runs the receipt search after each rental and saves the receipt once it posts, through bill fetching. If Dollar emails it to you, email receipt capture takes that copy, and the rental goes on the trip's expense report.
