How to get a United Rentals invoice

Invoices in Total Control

Total Control is available to all United Rentals customers. It shows account balances, tracks how old each invoice is, and sends invoice notifications to the right person. United Rentals has recently reworked the payment flow in Total Control to make paying invoices faster.

Paying in the mobile app

The Mobile App now lets you view and pay invoices in a few taps. This payment feature is for customers with a United Rentals credit line. Other customers can apply for a credit account. In the app, invoices are paid with payment methods already on the account or with credit memos.

Invoice aging and alerts

• Invoice Aging: a list of outstanding invoices, formatted to your preferences.
• Purchase Order Expiration: an email when a PO passes its limit or is about to.
• Extended Contract: a notice as soon as a rental contract is extended.
• Estimated Rental Costs: a report on rental costs over an upcoming period.

Splitting invoices by cost center

Total Control lets you allocate invoices between cost centers and work orders. Doing that at the invoice stage, rather than in accounting later, also shows when two crews have rented the same equipment.

Paying and the record to keep

Whether you pay in Total Control or in the app, keep the invoice itself. A payment confirmation shows what left the account; the invoice shows the equipment, rental period and job it covered. When an auditor or a client asks what a payment was for, the invoice answers in one page.

United Rentals invoices with the job attached

With bill fetching, our AI agent signs in to Total Control, saves each new invoice and keeps the job and PO details with it. Invoice notification emails are read by email receipt capture, and rental spend per project appears in reports alongside the rest of the job costs.
