How to get a Stamps.com receipt

Stamps.com prints a postage receipt in two ways. Tick Print Receipt under the label preview before you print the label, or, for postage already printed, go to History, select the item and choose Print Receipt from the details action menu. For the money side of the account, the Reports tab lists the funds you added and the fees you paid.
Receipt lookup in History
History holds every USPS transaction you have printed. From there you can view label details, track the shipment, request a refund or reprint postage, and the same menu offers the receipt. Any USPS transaction can get a receipt after printing. A forgotten checkbox is not a problem.
Turning the receipt into proof of shipment
Stamps.com suggests taking the printed postage receipt to your local Post Office for an official postmark. With that postmark, the printout serves as proof of shipment if you later file an insurance claim. It is also the receipt to hand a customer who asks what their postage cost.
Expenses and Balances reports
- Expenses: funds added to your account and purchases of insurance, supplies, service fees and taxes. It can be filtered by expense type.
- Balances: beginning balance, funds added, credited and deducted, and ending balance for the period you choose.
- Prints: your mailing and shipping history by service, cost code or letters versus packages.
Open the REPORTS tab, pick the report, set a date range, then select Export for a CSV file or Print for a printable view.
Which record answers which question
A postage receipt proves what one label cost. The Expenses report proves what left your bank account, since postage is bought from a prepaid balance. Your accountant will usually want the second, and a customer or claims adjuster the first.
Stamps.com records without the monthly export
Running the same report every month is easy to skip, and the CSV ends up in a downloads folder nobody checks. Our AI agent can sign in to Stamps.com with your login through bill fetching and keep the account records collected. Postage, insurance and service fees then flow into expense reports by cost code, and the year of mailing costs is ready for tax receipts.
