How to get a ShopRite receipt

Receipts and invoices

ShopRite sends digital receipts by email to shoppers who have a ShopRite.com account and a Price Plus club card and who opt in. Each one arrives within an hour of checkout from noreply@t.shoprite.com with the subject "Your ShopRite digital receipt". Once you're enrolled, the register prints a shortened slip unless you use self-checkout, and the cashier can print the full version if you ask.

Turn on ShopRite digital receipts

  1. Sign in at ShopRite.com, open my account, then my account settings.
  2. Under personal information & preferences, click edit.
  3. Answer yes to both questions: receive digital receipts, and get an email notification when a new one is available.
  4. Click update at the bottom right to save.

Getting them without asking? ShopRite explains that signing up for a Price Plus card online shows the same preference boxes, and you may have ticked them then. Answer no to both questions to opt out.

When the email doesn't come

Give it at least an hour, then look in your spam or junk folder and mark the message as not spam. Check the email address in the my profile box of your account settings, since a bad address bounces the receipt back to ShopRite. Replying to the noreply inbox won't get you a copy, since nobody monitors it.

Codes on a ShopRite receipt

Letters beside each line explain how it was treated. The ones that matter for bookkeeping:

  • T: taxable, not SNAP eligible. B: SNAP eligible and taxed. F: SNAP eligible, not taxed.
  • Q and X: qualified health care items for an HSA, with X also taxable.
  • DS, DM and TC: digital store, digital manufacturer and targeted coupons.

The Q and X flags make it quick to pick HSA-eligible items out of a long grocery receipt.

Returns: receipt, Price Plus lookup or ID

ShopRite takes the original paper or digital receipt for a full refund or exchange, paid back in the form you used. With neither, the store looks up the purchase on your Price Plus club card. If that fails too, you may need ID, and you get an exchange or store credit for the lowest sale price in the last 30 days. Non-perishables have a 30-day window and perishables 7 days.

ShopRite emails, filed automatically

Because ShopRite delivers each trip as an email, email receipt capture can pick up every "Your ShopRite digital receipt" message and file it with the date and total. When the email is late, a quick photo of the shortened slip in the receipt scanner covers you, and HSA-flagged items can be set aside with your tax receipts.

Frequently asked questions

ShopRite's FAQ covers emailed digital receipts rather than a searchable archive. Enrolled Price Plus members get each receipt by email, and a lost receipt can be verified at the store through the Price Plus card.

Yes. ShopRite first tries to verify the purchase with your Price Plus club card. If it can't, it may ask for ID and gives an exchange or store credit at the lowest sale price of the past 30 days.

Shoppers enrolled in digital receipts get a shortened printed receipt everywhere except self-checkout. Ask the cashier if you want the full one.
