At Second Cup, the receipt from the register is your record of a café purchase. When you present your Rewards Card, you can also ask the associate for your balance or for a Rewards Program transaction receipt. If points are missing, Second Cup adds them when you send a photo of the receipt with your card number or the email on your account through its contact form.
Getting missing points added
Second Cup's contact page says it can help with points you did not receive. Use the Contact Us button and include:
- a photo of your receipt
- your Rewards card number, the email linked to your account, or both
Before you write, give it time. Second Cup's FAQ says points usually show up after a delay of 7 days.
Show the card before you pay
Under the Rewards policy, no points are awarded if you present your Rewards Card after the purchase is complete. Second Cup also says it is not responsible when points fail to be captured or recorded. The receipt photo is your best evidence when that happens.
What the app tracks
The Second Cup app lets you complete your registration and follow your points and rewards. It tracks the loyalty side of your visits. It is not described as a place to download receipts, which is why the paper one still matters.
Problems with an online shop order
For an order from Second Cup's online shop, the contact page asks for the order number and a picture of the products you received. Keep the order confirmation that carries that number.
Coffee with a client
A coffee meeting is a small expense, which is exactly why the receipt goes missing. Ask for it at the register, since the card terminal slip only shows the amount.
Second Cup receipts photographed for points and claims
Second Cup already asks for a receipt photo when points go missing. Take that photo at the counter. The receipt scanner keeps it with the date and total, ready for a points request or an expense claim. Online shop confirmations can follow through email receipt capture, and the client coffees add up on your expense report.
