How to get a Pottery Barn receipt

Pottery Barn sorts every return by the receipt you hand over. An original receipt refunds the original form of payment, a gift receipt turns into a Merchandise Credit for the amount printed on it, and an item with neither is not eligible for return. Online orders sit in the order history you reach by signing in to your Pottery Barn account.
Original receipt or gift receipt
Most items can be returned within 30 days of receiving the order. Quick Ship upholstery has 7 days. With the original receipt, the refund follows the way you paid. With a gift receipt, you get store credit instead, and the giver's card is never touched. Delivery fees are not refunded, and earlier purchases do not get price adjustments.
Registry gifts get 90 days
Items bought from a Pottery Barn registry can be refunded or exchanged within 90 days of the event or 90 days of the purchase, whichever comes later. Wedding and gift registry support shares the main customer service line, 1.888.779.5176.
How large and cash refunds are paid
- Cash and check refunds over $100 are issued as a company check and mailed to you, which can take 14 business days.
- A return worth more than $10,000 in Merchandise Credit Cards gets $10,000 on the day, and the rest is mailed on additional cards.
- Final sale items, priced ending in .97, cannot be returned at all.
Expect the mailed check if you paid cash for a large piece and return it in a store.
Order history lookup and label reprints
Signed-in customers find past orders under Order History in the account menu. To ship an item back, start a return online, say whether you purchased it or received it as a gift, and bring the UPS label to a drop-off point. A label created in the last 7 days can be printed again with the return reference number. Online returns cover items shipped within the United States, and international orders go through international@potterybarn.com.
Store returns and furniture
Non-furniture items can be returned to a local Pottery Barn store for free. Furniture and oversized pieces are handled by phone with customer care. Monogrammed items, mattresses, gift cards and made to order furniture or rugs are excluded, along with damage from normal wear.
Pottery Barn receipts for staging and hospitality projects
A home stager or a short-term rental host may buy the same lamp ten times a year and needs each original receipt to get the refund back on the company card instead of as store credit. Email receipt capture keeps each Pottery Barn confirmation, bill fetching sends our AI agent to sign in and copy orders from your Order History, and expense reports group the purchases by project.
