How to get a Porter Airlines receipt
Founder & CEO, Smartbills
2 min read
To get a Porter Airlines receipt, use the Receipt link in your booking confirmation email, or go to My Bookings, enter your confirmation number and last name, and select View My Receipt. Bags and seats bought from Porter are on the same receipt; tickets bought through an agency come from the agency.
Two ways to open it
- Use the Receipt link in the booking confirmation email, or
- Go to My Bookings, enter your confirmation number and last name, and select View My Receipt on the My Itinerary page.
Bags and seats
If you booked directly with Porter, bag and seat fees are on the same receipt as the fare. Buying a bag later in My Bookings adds it to that booking's receipt.
Booked through an agency
If a travel agent or online travel agency sold the ticket, Porter's receipt only lists the bag and seat fees you paid to Porter directly. The flight receipt has to come from the agency.
Proof that you flew
If you need to prove you flew (for insurance or work) and no longer have your boarding pass, request a confirmation letter from Porter's Customer Relations team with the online Confirmation Letter Request form. It covers Porter-operated flights, and processing takes about 2 to 3 weeks when all the details are supplied.
Help with a booking
For anything the website cannot do, Porter's reservations line is listed on its Help & Contact page.
GST/HST on a Porter fare
The itinerary receipt shows the taxes and fees on a Canadian fare. CRA asks for the airline's GST/HST registration number on purchases of $100 or more to support an input tax credit. Keep the full receipt rather than the card charge.
Porter receipts ready before you land
Porter's confirmation email links straight to the itinerary receipt. Catching that email is enough. Email receipt capture picks it up from your inbox and reads the fare, taxes, seats and bags, ready for an input tax credit at tax time. If you add bags or seats later, connect your VIPorter account and our AI agent signs in to My Bookings and saves the updated receipt with bill fetching.
