How to get a Patreon receipt

Patreon members get receipts from Billing History. Log in, click Settings in the left sidebar, then More, then Billing History. Find the charge and click its date link above Billing Details to open the receipt, which includes a VAT breakdown where it applies. Creators do not receive an invoice for Patreon's fees; their fee and earnings records are files in the Payouts dashboard.
Billing History for members
Payments to creators are listed by month with the processing date, the amount and the creator who received it. A dropdown near the top switches years. Patreon emails the receipt for your first charge, and after that you download receipts yourself from this page. Creators who bill in different currencies have their receipts grouped by currency, and your bank statement may show a converted amount.
How creator fees are charged
Patreon keeps its fees from member payments rather than billing them. For creators who publish after August 4, 2025, Patreon moved to a standard 10% platform plan plus applicable taxes, with standardized payment processing fees. Depending on your location and business status, Patreon may add sales tax or VAT to its fees, applied when each member transaction is processed and shown in your earnings dashboard.
Giving Patreon your VAT ID
Add your VAT ID in the W8 form in the Tax section of your account, and confirm the business legal address there. Without a valid VAT ID, Patreon may charge VAT or GST on its fees to non-US creators. In some countries, such as Switzerland and South Africa, it charges VAT regardless.
Creator records in the Payouts Documents tab
- Withdrawal history CSV: every payout initiated.
- Earnings breakdown by month CSV: the total processed for you each month.
- Patron transaction history CSV and refund history CSV.
- Income tax: yearly gross earnings, and a 1099-K for qualifying years if paperless tax statements are on.
- Sales tax CSVs by US state and by country, showing tax Patreon collected on your patrons' behalf.
Patreon pledges and payouts, sorted
Members who support creators for work, such as a design team backing a font maker, can file each receipt from Billing History through bill fetching, where our AI agent signs in to Patreon for them. The first-charge receipt Patreon emails is caught by email receipt capture. Creators keep the monthly earnings and sales tax CSVs with their tax receipts.
