Receipt or invoice: which one to pull

The receipt is generated straight from the payment record. The invoice is a short form you complete first, with fields for full name, company name, address and VAT number. When a business is reimbursing the plan, the invoice is the document that names the company. Generate it before filing the expense, since a receipt alone shows only the payment.

Steps in Nord Account

1. Sign in at my.nordaccount.com.
2. Open Billing, then the Billing history tab.
3. Find the paid subscription.
4. For a receipt, select Get receipt and stay on the page until it finishes generating.
5. For an invoice, select Get invoice, complete the form and select Download invoice.

Invoice lookup for past renewals

Billing history is the lookup: each paid transaction on the account has its own row, and each row offers both documents. NordVPN's help pages describe no lookup outside the account. For anything the list cannot show, its support team answers through live chat or an email form, and replies to email within 24 hours.

Charged VAT for the wrong country

NordVPN collects VAT for the country selected on the checkout page, and the charge shows next to the price in the order summary. If you chose the wrong country, NordVPN offers two routes: generate an invoice from Nord Account and claim the tax back at your local tax office, or ask support to refund the payment and subscribe again with the right country selected.

A VPN plan often renews once every year or two, long after anyone remembers which card paid for it.
