How to get a McAfee invoice

McAfee

Treat an unexpected McAfee invoice email with suspicion until your account confirms it. McAfee says it will never require you to call a phone number in an email or text, and its advice when in doubt is to sign in and check. Genuine charges appear in Payment history on the Subscriptions page at myaccount.mcafee.com, with the invoice details, purchase date and amount paid.

Signs the invoice is not from McAfee

  • It asks you to call a phone number, or to confirm personal details.
  • It contains spelling and grammar mistakes.
  • It carries suspicious links or attachments.
  • It asks for personal or financial information.

McAfee adds that it will never call to ask you to pay for customer service, and that its agents never request your SSN, address or passwords.

Compare the sender with McAfee's list

McAfee's scam awareness page lists the addresses it sends from, such as donotreply@mcafee.com, consumersupport@mcafee.com, info@notification.mcafee.com and info@protect.mcafee.com. A billing message from any other address deserves no reply. Report fraudulent email using the McAfee brand to scam@mcafee.com.

Where real McAfee charges are listed

  1. Go to myaccount.mcafee.com and sign in.
  2. Select the Settings icon.
  3. Select Subscriptions.

Payment history there shows invoice details, purchase date, amount paid and subscription status, next to the expiration date and the auto-renewal setting. With several subscriptions, switch between them from the dropdown at the top left of the My Account home page.

Why a genuine charge can still surprise you

Most annual McAfee plans renew about 30 days before they expire. A plan ending July 1 can bill in early June, and the new term only starts when the old one ends. Separate products renew independently, and uninstalling the software does not stop billing; auto-renewal has to be turned off in the account. McAfee emails a renewal reminder 60 days before expiry or 30 days before renewal, depending on the subscription.

Invoice lookup across old email addresses

Payment history only covers the account you signed in to. McAfee suggests checking other email addresses you may have used, since each can hold its own subscription. Refunds go through Customer Support within 30 days of a first purchase, or 60 days of an automatic renewal on terms of a year or longer.

McAfee records you can trust

A record downloaded from your own McAfee account is evidence; an attachment from an unknown sender is not. Connect the McAfee account and our AI agent signs in after each renewal and saves the payment record from the Subscriptions page with bill fetching. Each renewal then sits with your other software costs, ready for an expense report or tax time.
