Lufthansa

Lufthansa's receipt for a flight is called the passenger receipt. You can open and print it from Lufthansa's Passenger receipt page as soon as the ticket has been issued and for up to 90 days after the trip ends. If your trip finished more than 90 days ago, request the passenger receipt with Lufthansa's online form instead.

Downloading the passenger receipt

On lufthansa.com, go to the Passenger receipt page and select Download passenger receipt. The link opens in a new browser tab. Print the receipt or save it as a file from there. The download stays available from ticket issue until 90 days after your last flight.

Receipt lookup for trips over 90 days old

Past the 90-day mark, the download no longer works. Lufthansa's page has a Request passenger receipt button for those trips, which opens an online form. Use it for last year's travel that turns up during a tax return or an audit.

When VAT appears

Lufthansa says VAT only applies to flights within Germany. For those flights, VAT is shown on the passenger receipt no earlier than one day after the ticket purchase. If you need the VAT line for a domestic German trip, wait a day after booking before you download. International trips carry no VAT line to wait for.

Special invoices by country

For flights originating in certain countries, Lufthansa issues special invoices on request when the e-ticket confirmation is not enough. The Passenger receipt page links a request form for each country, including:

  • Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Poland
  • Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, the Czech Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Mexico, Panama and Colombia

Some of these forms open on external sites. Pick the one that matches the country your flight departed from.

When something is missing

Lufthansa's Service Center is the contact for receipt problems that the download and the forms do not solve. Have your ticket number and travel dates ready.

Lufthansa receipts before the 90 days run out

The passenger receipt is a download that expires three months after the trip, and then it means a form. Our AI agent can retrieve each Lufthansa passenger receipt while the download is still open, through bill fetching. The booking emails go through email receipt capture, and domestic German VAT lines are ready for tax time.
