How to get a Qatar Airways tax invoice

To get a Qatar Airways invoice, open the Tax invoice request in the Help section of qatarairways.com and enter your booking reference (PNR) and last name to retrieve the booking. Tickets bought through a travel agency are the exception: Qatar Airways asks you to get the tax invoice from that agency. If you need proof that you flew rather than proof of payment, download a flight certificate instead.

Requesting the tax invoice

  1. Go to qatarairways.com and open Help.
  2. Choose Tax invoice.
  3. Enter the six-character booking reference and the last name on the booking.
  4. Select Retrieve booking and complete the request.

The booking reference is a mix of letters and numbers. The last name field accepts letters only.

Tickets bought from a travel agency

Qatar Airways' help page is direct about this: for tickets purchased through a travel agency, liaise with the agency for the tax invoice. The same agency rule appears on Qatar Airways' refund and name correction requests. Contact the agency that issued the ticket before you try the online form.

Flight certificates as proof of travel

Some claims ask for proof of travel, not a receipt. Qatar Airways offers a flight certificate you can download from the Help section:

  • certificates can be requested for up to 12 months from the date of travel
  • each flight in a journey gets its own certificate, and a connection through Doha means two
  • flights operated by another airline need a certificate from that airline

If a certificate will not download, or you need a different type, Qatar Airways asks you to submit a feedback form.
