How to get a Grasshopper invoice
Founder & CEO, Smartbills

Grasshopper invoices are downloaded from the admin portal. In the current portal, go to Plan & billing, Invoices and select the download icon next to the invoice. In the legacy admin portal, go to Settings, Account, choose a month under View Previous Invoices and click Download Invoice. Either way, you need admin permissions.
Which admin portal do you have?
Grasshopper runs two admin portals with different menus. The current one has a Plan & billing section with Subscriptions, Billing & payment and Invoices. The legacy one keeps everything on a single Settings, Account page. Grasshopper's help article shows both home pages for comparison.
The email that receives billing updates
The email in your contact information is the account's primary contact. Grasshopper uses it for billing updates, system announcements and other account messages. Change it under Plan & billing, Billing & payment, Contact information in the current portal, or from Contact Info in the legacy one. The legacy page also stores the company name and address.
Paying and changing the card
Grasshopper charges the card on file. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express credit cards are accepted, and so are Visa or Mastercard debit cards that work like credit cards without a PIN. Prepaid and gift cards are refused. Update the card under Billing & payment, Credit card information, Edit. An automatic charge still comes with a monthly invoice, and that invoice is the record your bookkeeper needs.
Plan changes and tax exemption
Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades wait until the next renewal: the next bill date on a monthly plan, or the annual renewal date. A nonprofit or tax-exempt organization emails support@grasshopper.com with proof of nonprofit status, a state sales tax exemption certificate or a completed exemption form, and a tax manager reviews it. Because of CPNI rules, support can't run reports for you.
Grasshopper invoices kept month after month
A virtual phone number is a small monthly charge that is easy to lose track of. Connect an admin login and our AI agent downloads each Grasshopper invoice from the portal with bill fetching. Billing emails sent to the primary contact can go to email receipt capture, and the taxes and fees on each invoice are kept for your tax receipts.
