Basecamp invoices are in Adminland. From the Home page, click Adminland on the left, scroll down and choose Handle billing, invoices, packages, and upgrades. Click any month in the invoices section to download it. Only account owners can open this page, and only on desktop or in a web browser.
Downloading a past invoice
In the invoices section, every month is listed. Click one to download a copy. Basecamp's help center describes that copy as plain text. A quicker way into Adminland is to type "Admin" in the Jump bar and press Enter. The mobile apps have no billing screens.
Choosing who gets invoice emails
Click Change who gets invoice emails, enter the recipient's address and add optional notes. The account owner keeps receiving a copy of every invoice as well. The extra recipient is the place for a bookkeeper or a shared accounts inbox.
Owners handle billing, admins do not
Basecamp keeps billing among the owner-only tasks, along with updating the card, changing plans and buying extra storage on the Unlimited Edition plan. To replace the card, click Update your credit card, enter the details and confirm with Update my credit card. Basecamp recommends adding a second owner so billing is never stuck with one person. The account name you set also appears on invoices.
Sales tax, GST and VAT lines
37signals, the company behind Basecamp, adds a sales tax or VAT line when the billing address is in a taxable jurisdiction. Its tax policy lists more than twenty US states plus Chicago, consumer sales in the EU and UK, and GST/HST in every Canadian province and territory, with PST in British Columbia. Prices on the website exclude these taxes. To send a VAT number or a state exemption certificate, email support@37signals.com with the document and your account ID from the basecamp.com/[account ID] address.
Basecamp invoices in your records every month
The invoice email is easy to route: add an address that email receipt capture reads through Change who gets invoice emails, and each month's charge is filed as it arrives. Our AI agent can also sign in as the owner and collect earlier months from Adminland with bill fetching. Canadian accounts keep the GST/HST from each invoice for tax time.
