Gusto

Gusto bills admins once a month and charges the company's default bank account. The invoice lists what you paid Gusto for running payroll, separate from the payroll itself.

Finding the invoice

  1. Sign in as an admin.
  2. Select your company name at the bottom of the left menu, then Plan & billing.
  3. Choose See all invoices, then View Invoice for the month.

Older invoices are under Settings, Plan & Billing, See All Invoices. Page one is a summary of charges; page two has the detail.

What the invoice includes

The plan's base fee, a fee per active employee, a fee per contractor paid that month, and any supplemental fees. Add-ons such as tax-advantaged account administration or Google Workspace billing appear too, along with state sales tax where it applies.

Workers' compensation invoices

From October 27, 2025, workers' compensation invoices for policies placed with NEXT Insurance are managed by NEXT, which emails you directly and shows invoices on the policy's Invoices tab in NEXT.

Billed through your accountant

If your accountant pays for your Gusto account, you cannot view the invoices in Gusto; your accountant sees them in their own profile.

Payroll records versus the Gusto invoice

The invoice is Gusto's fee. For what left your bank on each payroll, use the Cash Requirements Summary in each payroll's history, or the bank transactions and agency payments reports, downloadable as PDF, CSV or Excel.

Gusto fees filed every month

Gusto's invoice sits behind an admin login and the fee changes as headcount does. Connect an admin account and our AI agent signs in after each monthly charge and saves the invoice through bill fetching, ready to match the bank debit. NEXT's workers' comp invoice emails can be filed by email receipt capture, and subscription tracking shows the per-employee cost creeping up as you hire.
