How to download a past AEP bill

AEP utilities such as AEP Ohio (Ohio Power Company) and Appalachian Power show past bills in your online account under Billing History, and AEP Ohio paperless customers see up to 13 months of billing and usage details. To pay, log in and pay free from checking if you are paperless, use guest pay or the phone for a fee, mail a check, or pay in person. AutoPay is free.
Billing History lookup
Log in and use the View Your Bills links: Billing History lists past bills, View Bill opens the current one, and Payment Activity shows what you paid. Paperless billing stops the mailed bill, though every bill stays available to print.
Which AEP site to use
AEP bills through operating companies, each with its own site. AEP Ohio's and Appalachian Power's comparison pages show the same $1.85 residential fee and free paperless ACH payments. Sign in on the site of the company named on your bill.
Payment options compared
- Paperless online payment: free, checking account (ACH) only, same day if made by 4:00 PM.
- Guest pay: a one-time payment without creating an online account, with a fee.
- One-time online card or e-check: $1.85 per residential transaction or 2.95% for commercial cards, up to $2,500 for residential accounts.
- Phone through BillMatrix: $1.85 per residential transaction, cards accepted.
- Mail: postage only, using the return envelope with your bill.
- In person: CheckFree Pay cashiers, plus US Payments kiosks in certain states. Fees vary by location.
AutoPay through Direct Payments
AutoPay pays the bill from your checking account on the due date and sends a message once it is paid. It is free, run by partner Direct Payments, and does not take cards. Activation takes 3 business days online, or 4 to 6 weeks by mail. Each bill still lands in Billing History, and that bill is what documents the charge.
AEP bills past 13 months
Bill fetching lets our AI agent sign in to your AEP utility's account each month and save the bill from Billing History, before it slides past the 13-month view. Paperless emails go to email receipt capture, and business energy costs to expense reports.
