CenterPoint Energy bills and payments are in My Account: a CenterPoint bill insert says paperless customers can view up to 13 months of bills and online payments there, and the app shows the bill too. To pay without registering, choose Pay as a guest on the My Account sign-in page. AutoPay is a free service.
Bill lookup in My Account
Sign in to see the bill, balance and due date at any hour. Paperless billing emails you when a bill is ready and adds the 13-month bill and payment history. Usage history reaches further, up to 24 months of energy use depending on when service started at the address, with gas and electric shown separately.
Paying CenterPoint
- My Account: the Pay bill link opens the payment portal. One-time payments are processed immediately and can't be canceled.
- Guest: the sign-in page offers Pay as a guest, with registration later if you want it.
- App: log in with your CenterPoint Energy credentials to pay.
- Credit cards: up to three card payments in a five-day period, $1,000 per transaction.
- Returned payments: when a payment bounces for insufficient funds, CenterPoint debits the amount back to the account and adds a service charge, on top of any fee from your bank.
AutoPay and Average Monthly Billing
AutoPay is set up in My Account at no cost and pays from the designated account when funds are there. Average Monthly Billing spreads billing amounts over time based on projected charges, while you still pay only for the energy you use. The bill keeps posting each month, and it shows the gas or electric charges behind each AutoPay draft.
Extensions and arrangements
A payment extension moves the current bill to a later date while the next bill keeps its normal due date. A payment arrangement splits a past-due amount into smaller payments made on top of future bills. Both depend on eligibility.
CenterPoint bills beyond 13 months
Bill fetching has our AI agent sign in to CenterPoint My Account monthly and save each bill, for natural gas or electric accounts in any of its service areas. Paperless notices go to email receipt capture, and home office utility costs to tax receipts.
