How to download ActiveCampaign invoices

ActiveCampaign

ActiveCampaign invoices are on the Billing & Upgrade page, in the Invoices tab, as PDFs. The Primary Account Admin (the account owner) can open it, along with any user they have given purchase permissions. There is no option to email invoices: someone with that access has to sign in for each one.

Downloading an ActiveCampaign invoice

  1. Select your profile, then Billing & Upgrade.
  2. Open the Invoices tab.
  3. Each invoice shows its date, order ID, product, total and status. Select View to open it or Download for the PDF.

Giving a bookkeeper billing access

Members of the Admin group cannot open Billing & Upgrade by default. The Primary Admin can switch on purchase permissions for a user in any group:

  1. Open Settings (gear icon), then Users and groups.
  2. Select Edit next to the user, or add a new user.
  3. Turn the Purchase Permissions toggle on and select Save.

That user can then update the billing method and period, change plans and contact counts, add users, and buy add-ons and SMS credits.

VAT numbers and US sales tax

To add or change a VAT number, email help@activecampaign.com. Once updated, the number appears on all past and future invoices, older ones included. ActiveCampaign has no VAT number of its own because it is a US company. US businesses may pay state sales tax, worked out from the billing address and shown as a separate line on the invoice; trial accounts are not taxed. To claim an exemption, send your certificate to billing@activecampaign.com.

What the billing page shows

The left side lists the plan tier and limits that apply to you, such as contacts, email sends and SMS credits. The right side shows the payment method, billing cadence (annual, monthly, or commit annually and pay monthly), next billing date and amount, and available credits. To change the card, select Edit payment method, enter the new details and select Update, at any point in the cycle.

Refunds and credits

ActiveCampaign's policy is to give no partial or full refunds. Available credits are applied to your next payment automatically. Downgrades, such as a lower contact limit or a removed add-on, go through the Customer Experience team.

When the Primary Admin leaves

Any user in the Admin group can hand the role over from Settings, Users and Groups by editing the Primary Administrator's email. With no other admin on the account, Customer Experience needs the account name, both email addresses, and the last four digits, expiry date and billing address of the card on file.

ActiveCampaign invoices without the owner's login

With no invoice email at all, email receipt capture has nothing to catch from ActiveCampaign, and every invoice waits behind a login with billing access. Connect the Primary Account Admin, or a user with purchase permissions, and our AI agent signs in after each billing date, opens the Invoices tab and downloads the PDF through bill fetching. If ActiveCampaign is charged to the owner's personal card, the invoice goes on their expense report.
