How to download a past PG&E bill

To download a past PG&E bill, sign in to your account, select All billing tasks, scroll to Billing & Payment History and choose View Bill PDF beside the bill. PG&E keeps 24 months online, and the same section exports two years of bills and payments as one PDF or Excel file.
Downloading one bill
- Sign in to your PG&E account (residential or business).
- On the My Account dashboard, under Billing, select All billing tasks.
- Scroll to Billing & Payment History.
- Find the bill by date and select View Bill PDF.
Two years in one file
The same section can export 24 months of bills and payments as a PDF or an Excel file. For an annual home office claim or a rental property's records, that one file is often enough to start from.
Detail of Bill
The Detail of Bill is a fuller breakdown of the charges, chosen per Service ID. If you have several service points, select each Service ID in turn, pick the bill period and download it.
Paperless statements
Paperless billing sends the energy statement by email, with online access to past bills. Bill inserts are still available online for paperless customers, residential and business.
Older bills
Requests for bills up to three years old can be accommodated, and bills from before 2002 cannot be reprinted. For anything not in your online history, call PG&E's Customer Service Center.
Energy bills as a business cost
For a home office or a small business location, the monthly bill is the record behind the deduction. Two years online is generous, but tax records need to go back further.
Paying your PG&E bill and setting up AutoPay
PG&E charges nothing when you pay from a checking or savings account while logged in, use AutoPay from a bank account, or mail a check with the remittance stub. Card payments, guest bill pay (even from a bank account) and phone payments at 1-877-704-8470 carry a transaction fee. Google Pay and Apple Pay work for immediate payments only.
To set up AutoPay in My Account:
- Under All payments tasks, choose Payment Methods and add a card or bank account.
- Back on the dashboard, open All payments tasks again and select Recurring Payments.
- Pick the method, pay upon receipt or by due date, the full amount or a "pay up to" limit, then save and submit.
AutoPay begins with the next statement; pay any bill already due yourself. A residential card adds $1.50 per payment. The monthly statement stays the document to file, with the Detail of Bill that a card or bank line leaves out.
PG&E bills kept beyond two years
Paperless statements arrive by email, which email receipt capture can file from your inbox as each bill is issued. For the PDF from Billing & Payment History, and the Detail of Bill for each Service ID, connect your PG&E account and our AI agent signs in each month and saves them through bill fetching. The 24-month limit stops being a deadline.
