How to download a NYC water bill

New York City water and wastewater bills are issued for the NYC Water Board and managed in My DEP Account, the free portal of the Department of Environmental Protection. Sign in to see billing history for the last 12 periods, view and print the current bill, and retrieve past bills. To pay once without signing up, use DEP QuickPay.
Signing up for My DEP Account
Choose Sign-up on the My DEP Account login page. You need the account number and the activation token, both printed on your water and wastewater bill. The portal also offers eBilling, an option to be billed monthly, leak notifications and online forms you can submit and track.
Billing history lookup and printing
Inside My DEP Account, billing history lists the last 12 periods. Open a period to view the bill, then print it or save it. Keep your own copy of each bill as it arrives if your records must go back further than those 12 periods.
Property managers with several buildings
Owners and managing agents can bring several accounts into one profile. To add accounts, sign up as a property manager, or ask DEP to change your profile role to property manager, then enter each account number with its activation token. You can set communication preferences per account, send bill copies to different mailing addresses, and delegate an account to another person.
Paying a NYC water bill and Autopay
- Online: in My DEP Account, or through DEP QuickPay with no login. QuickPay payments are credited the next business day.
- Phone: the automated line at (866) 622-8292, around the clock, by checking account, credit or debit card.
- Mail: a check or money order payable to NYC Water Board, P.O. Box 11863, Newark, NJ 07101-8163, in the return envelope.
- In person: DEP Borough Offices take checks and money orders, and NYC Department of Finance Business Centers also take cash.
Card payments carry a 2.25% convenience fee. Payments from a checking or savings account do not. Autopay is switched on from My DEP Account. Each bill is still issued while Autopay runs, and it remains the record of what the debit paid for.
NYC water bills kept for every building
A manager with a dozen accounts in one My DEP Account profile can lose an afternoon each billing cycle printing PDFs. Connect the login and our AI agent pulls each new bill for every account into one place with bill fetching. The eBilling notices can be filed through email receipt capture, and the bills are grouped by property for year-end.
